As of 2018, there are roughly 9,000 solar panels that are helping to power Staten Island. In total, that takes up about 10 acres of land. When compared to the entire city of New York, Staten Island has the most considerable amount of ground-mounted solar units. This time-consuming process will generate up to four million kilowatt hours back into the Island’s grid (500 residential and commercial properties annually).

Staten Islanders are turning to solar energy because the technologies have a proven track record to work and save money.

Solar energy is clean. Most places must worry about air pollution. Cities must consider different ways to stop polluting the air. Staten Island once had major air issues while operating the world’s largest landfill, but significant strides have been successfully taken to clean the air. Solar power can help to keep the air clean.

Local and state officials (Andrew Cuomo and Michael Cusick) are pledging to keep the solar initiative going, and in fact, they are even trying to expand the program throughout the state.

It is time to join the rest of the Island in this solar revolution. It is accessible and affordable to add solar panels to almost any home on Staten Island. For more information on solar power Staten Island, let us be your first call.
